Vitamin A plays a vital role in skin health. As for acne, the most effective drug is 13-cis retinoic acid (isotretinoin). In the May 2007 issue of Archives of Dermatology, this has been reported that applying vitamin A to the skin can help fight against wrinkling with age. Not only wrinkles, but actinic keratosis and sun damage is also cured by this vitamin. Tretinoin is the stronger kind, whereas retinol is the mild one.
